Great Expectations

The narrative begins with Pip's encounter with an escaped convict, Abel Magwitch, in a graveyard. This meeting sets off a chain of events that profoundly impacts Pip's life. He is raised by his sister and her husband, Joe Gargery, a blacksmith.
