HEIDI
Heidi" narrates the story of a young orphan girl named Heidi who is taken to live with her gruff grandfather, known as Alm-Uncle, in the Swiss Alps. The story explores her adventures, relationships with the mountain folk, including her friend Peter the goatherd, and her eventual move to Frankfurt, where she becomes the companion to Clara, a wealthy girl who is unable to walk.
Heidi's natural joy and love of life positively influence her reclusive grandfather, who becomes more open and loving. The story emphasizes the conflict between the simple, healthy life in the mountains and the stress and illness associated with city life. Eventually, Heidi's deep longing for her home leads to her return to the Alps, where she thrives and helps Clara regain her strength and learn to walk again.
