The LAST DOGS

Journey's End is the fourth and final book in Christopher Holt's beloved middle-grade series about Max, a Golden Retriever, Rocky, a Dachshund, and Gizmo, a Yorkshire Terrier. The trio continues their journey south, following a series of beacons left by Dr. Lynn, which promises to guide them back to their people. Along the way, they are warned of a mysterious "silver wall of doom," possibly linked to Max's dreams and the barrier preventing him from reuniting with his family.
Throughout the story, the dogs receive help from various desert animals including bats and armadillos, adding layers of friendship and cooperation to the tale. However, they also confront new threats such as a pack of coyotes and, ultimately, Dolph and his wolf pack, who serve as the antagonistic force culminating in a tense and climactic final battle.
